Lakefront One-Bedroom
A single residence with a king bed, a sitting room, a kitchen, and a private balcony onto the lake. For two.
Villa Montclair sits on the water’s edge of Lake Wakatipu — terraced into the hillside, opening out towards the Remarkables. A boutique residence, quietly considered, a short drive from Queenstown.
Every residence sits with the water and the mountains. Step out to the lake path. A short drive to Queenstown town centre.
A wellness suite, a quiet lounge and bar, a sequence of common rooms composed for slow mornings and considered evenings.
Lake swims in January. Copper autumn. Firelit winters. The green surge of spring. A reason to come back.
Terraced into the hillside, the residence stacks toward the water in a sequence of dark-clad volumes — recessive against the landscape. Expansive glazing is the primary material. The palette is drawn from the lake bed below it: graphite, stone, weathered oak, brushed bronze.
Branding and signage are kept small. The view is the hero of every stay.
The lake decides the rhythm of the day. The town fills in the rest.
Coffee on the balcony. The Remarkables turn pink. The lake holds still for an hour before the first water taxi opens it up. A walk along the lake path, into town and back.
Stone fruit from Cromwell. Bread from a bakery a short walk away. A flat white from the lounge. The terraces are cut to catch the morning sun — eat outside.
A walk along the waterfront, in among the bookshops and the boutiques. Lunch is a hard call — somewhere in town, or wherever the team has booked out in the valley. The concierge has views.
Summer: a private launch from the jetty, or a swim where the willows hang over the water. Winter: the mountain, an afternoon on the slopes. Shoulder months: a heli into the back country, or a wine day in Central Otago.
A bottle of Central Otago pinot, brought back from a cellar door. The lake turns gold and then bronze and then lilac. The Remarkables go black against the sky. Nobody speaks for ten minutes.
A booking somewhere in town — wherever the team has chosen tonight. Walk back along the lake. The bar is open until late, the fire is on, and the lake is doing whatever the lake does at midnight.
Wellness here is the rhythm of a stay, not a list of facilities — twenty minutes in the sauna at six in the morning, the cold plunge, then back out into the cold air to watch the lake turn over.

Every residence opens on to the lake. Each is fully appointed, with a kitchen, a fire, and a balcony cut for the view.
A single residence with a king bed, a sitting room, a kitchen, and a private balcony onto the lake. For two.
A wider footprint, two ensuites, a full kitchen and a dining table for six. The default for two couples or a family of four.
A stand-alone residence with a wraparound balcony and a fire, sized for a long weekend with friends or a small wedding party.
The full corner of the building. Five bedrooms, a private terrace at the lake’s edge, and the wellness suite a short walk down the path.
Lakefront alpine luxury,
redefined.
Hello Queenstown is the local hospitality team that runs Villa Montclair. They live here. The concierge knows which guide to call for a jet-boat run on a Tuesday morning, which winemaker is pouring this weekend, and which heli operator flies in the wind that comes off the saddle.
What that means for a stay: a recommendation that sounds personal because it is. A booking that is already made before the question is asked. A small problem solved before it shows up. A team on the ground, every day of the year.
An enquiry, not an instant booking. The team replies the same day to confirm the residence, the rate, and any details that will make the stay easier.
A copy of the enquiry is on its way to you. For anything urgent before then — [email protected] or +64 3 669 4966.
